The search for the BEST Lechon Kawali part 4
Lechon Macau at Gloria Mariz
RATINGS: (lowest) 1star – 5 stars (highest)
Value For Money @ P418.00 = 1 stars
Overall Taste = 3 stars
Ambiance = 4 stars
Service = 2 stars
Lechon Macau here at Gloria Mariz is definitely the most expensive Lechon Macau we’ve tasted in our list of destination. Apparently, it’s not the best. Dining in Gloria Mariz remind me of my younger years, one of the pioneer Chinese restaurant that’s famous in event gatherings and celebrations. Back to Lechon Macau evaluation, it’s not the best, it’s darn expensive, I won’t come back to order it again, period! On the positive note, their Hal Congee is to die for…

Lechon Macau at HK Choi Garden
RATINGS: (lowest) 1star – 5 stars (highest)
Value For Money @ P280.00 = 2 stars
Overall Taste = 3 stars
Ambiance = 4 stars
Service = 2 stars
It’s quite obvious that HK Choi Garden focus on great product presentation, the plating of their Lechon Macau showing off its thin but crispy pork skin in an orderly manner is indeed very appealing visually. The thin layer of fat is also a great attribute of this product. The unique yellow mustard dip however does not appeal to everyone. (I personally prefer to dip it in spicy vinegar or Chinese black vinegar). The meal is ok, but it’s not a product destination. The food is average, it’s a bit disappointing given the expectations build on you by its modern oriental interior.

The search for the BEST Lechon Kawali part 2
Lechon kawali at Man Hann Megamall
RATINGS: (lowest) 1star – 5 stars (highest)
Value For Money @ P195.00 = 3 stars
Overall Taste = 2.5 stars
Ambiance = 3 stars
Service =3 stars
The meat is tender and with above average crispiness pork skin, though the meat is a bit on the bland side. Portioning is ok, just enough rice and with side dish of Chinese string beans, the sauce is typical sarsa ni Mang Tomas and Lechon Kawali sauce. Definitely Man Hann has other better products on their menu portfolio like spicy spareribs and oyster cake among others. But when craving for Lechon Kawali, they surely can give you a quick fix to your cravings without hurting too much on the budget.

D’ day… Pag-gising ko sa umaga, I know that this day will be different. As I prepare myself to a very rough and challenging day ahead, I woke up extra early today, kailangan i-condisyon ang katawan sa nalalapit na laban:Teng-teng-teng! Music please!
First destination: Mann Hann sa Megamal, the challenge begins…
to be continued...
